POETRY READING BY KAREN CIOSEK AND NANCY MANNING In-Person
Join us for an evening poetry reading on people, places, and nature by local Connecticut poets Karen Ciosek and Nancy Manning. Karen and Nancy have given recent poetry readings at the Susan B. Anthony Birthplace; The Fells in Sunapee, New Hampshire; the Beacon Falls Public Library; and Oxford Public Library. Hosted by Woodbury's own Poet Laureate, Katie Baker.
Nancy earned an MFA in poetry from Southern Connecticut State University. Her poetry and prose have appeared in several publications, most recently in Orenaug Mountain Publishing's Lost Love. Her poetry collections are entitled Amethyst Garden, The Unspoken of Our Days, What Glues Us Together, and Absence. Her YA novel Undertow of Silence won the TAG New YA Fiction Award. Now retired, she taught middle school, high school, and college English classes.
Karen is a retired Connecticut teacher and lifetime bird watcher. In her poetry collection, Navigating the Poet's Sky, all the bird poems are written about permanent residents and seasonal visitors of New England. She holds an MFA in poetry from Southern Connecticut State University. Her most recent publication was "Lament" in Orenaug Mountain Publishing's Lost Love.
