70 Years of Godzilla In-Person
Godzilla is the longest continuing running movie franchise in existence. Many people think of the silly kid-oriented movies from the '70s when they hear his name. However, there is an incredibly long and complicated history of this movie monster that transcends the kid friendly movies from that era. The original iteration of Godzilla (Gojira) has a far more complicated and intense presence.
Join Reference and Technology Librarian Ron Fairchild, a life-long fan of the movies, comics, and other representations of this famous radioactive beast, for an in depth dive into the history, present day presence, and potential future of the most famous movie "monster" of all time. Beginning with his original 1954 depiction as a physical manifestation of nuclear destruction through present day (where he is depicted as both an antihero and also the incarnation of destruction depending on the movie), Godzilla is a household name that invokes any number of feelings.
All participants for this program can enter for a chance to win a Godzilla Minus One collectible figurine!
