International Holocaust Remembrance Display in the Community Cabinet In-Person
Throughout January 2025, the library's Community Cabinet will feature a special exhibit curated by Deborah S. Holman, author of the award-winning novel Nothing Really Bad Will Happen: A Holocaust Story of Loss and Legacy. In honor of International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 25, this exhibit showcases family artifacts and historical items that inspired her deeply moving story of loss, resilience, and remembrance.
Deborah’s novel, which won the 2024 Richard G. Tomlinson Literary Award from the Connecticut Society of Genealogists, is a poignant exploration of the Holocaust’s enduring impact on one family’s legacy. The display offers a rare glimpse into the personal history and meticulous research that shaped her work.
Visitors are invited to reflect on these artifacts and their connection to the novel’s themes while honoring the memory of those who endured unimaginable hardship. Be sure to stop by the Community Cabinet to experience this meaningful tribute to history and storytelling.
